Oh! Happy Day...

In which I share yet another made up "holiday" that makes me smile...

Mark your calendars for this Friday, June the 1st.

FREE. DOUGHNUT. DAY.

I'm not sure those are the three most perfect words in the English language.
But I'm pretty sure they'd rank in the Top Ten...

Here's the 4-1-1 according to the email that the fine folks at Krispy Kreme sent me*:

I'm lucky, because "my" Krispy Kreme is one of the good ones - where they've it up so you can see the entire doughnut production process from start to finish. They call it "Doughnut Theatre" - isn't that wonderful??? Suffice to say, I'm a big fan.

All the steps in Doughnut Theatre are fascinating - but a particular high point is the "glaze waterfall." Cooked, but nekkid, doughnuts travel under a curtain of liquid glaze and come out the other side perfectly attired in sugary goodness. It's a sight to behold...

How many days until Friday???

*Because you totally know that I'm on the mailing list...

I was watching Paula Dean the other day and she made Krispy Kreme bread pudding. I almost passed out! I live 45mins from the closest one. sigh

There isn't much that beats a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut. Mmmmmmm....
If gas weren't 500 dollars a gallon, I would consider making the trip to Krispy Kreme on Friday. It wouldn't be such a great deal if that free doughnut cost me seven bucks though.

Did you have a nice weekend?

Darn it blogger! That word verification drives me crazy. I almost never get it the first time and I know blogger is laughing at me!

Does your KK give you a free glazed doughnut if the Hot Now sign is on? This is an even better deal -- the doughnut of your choice! WooHoo! Thanks for the head's up!

The nearest Krispy Kreme to me is over 1 hour away. Guess I won't be getting any free doughnuts! :(

Wicked! I actually made that bread pudding. You can read about it here. Sounds like it'd be good, but it wasn't...

dang, there's no Krispy Kreme in my town but I would be willing to drive to KC for a free donut. Yep, now I know what I'm doing on Friday.

mmmm krispy kremes! How I love them so! There was one in Toledo, Ohio where my boyfriend used to live and the happiest times for me were when the little "hot & fresh" sign lit up and you won a free donught. That was awesome. Yay Krispy Kreme.

I'm one of the few who does not care for the Krispy Kreme. Too many bad memories from childhood of Krispy Kremes on road trips. Ick.
