It's hard to believe it... but someone is this many old today:
That's right. This guy:
Hard to remember that there was a time when you were so hairless that you didn't even have eyelashes or eyebrows...
Oh... you've come a long way, baby. Wait, am I still allowed to call you that now that you've hit double digits???
I love you, kiddo - and after 10 years it never ceases to amaze me that I manage to love you a little bit more every day. You're so smart, and so damn funny that it just knocks me out. You're thoughtful and contemplative and just nice to have around. You are, by far, the best thing that I've ever done in my life, and it is joy and a privilege to be your mom.
I've said it a million times before, and I'm sure this won't be the last: you, sir, are a really good egg.
Meet Reba. She's the newest member of the family here at the House That Crazy Built.
She's almost 9 months old and just the sweetest girl you'd ever hope to meet.
Bubba, Schecky and I are all over the moon - that's how smitten we all are... Can you blame us? Look at those ears! Those chubby little paws! Those short little legs, with which I am sure she will be able to walk all over us! Oh man, we've got it bad, for sure....
I'm writing blog posts in my head *all* the damn time.
Seriously, it's become like this weird compulsion, or something.
I'm driving Shecky to camp - he's learning video game design this summer(!?!); or I'm folding the never-ending mountain of laundry; or I'm staring into the refrigerator, trying to figure out what I can make with for dinner using some possibly-too-old chicken, some spicy mustard and half a tomato. But all the while, I realize that in the back of my mind, I'm composing a blog post about whatever it is.
It's kind of like having a radio playing at barely discernible volume - you know? You're almost not aware of it, it's not really registering on the radar; but if you're paying attention - well, then - there it is???
It's a mildly entertaining academic exercise of sorts.
Now - it seems that getting these phantom blog posts out of my head and actually ON the blog? Well...that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish right there.
I'm a native of Kingsport, a graduate of Sewanee, and a resident of Atlanta - although no matter where I happen to be I'm an avid reader, and a wanna-be crafty girl.
