I Am A Woman On A Mission...

Today the guilt began to sink in - I've not been doing a lot to justify my existence around here lately...

So I kicked it into high gear - today was a frenzy of cleaning, dusting, tidying, storing, ironing, groceryshopping, etc. Have not gotten to the knitting, but that will be my treat tonight as I sit and watch the Project Runway season finale*. I also didn't get to the bathroom light fixture - but have decided that it's better to run a single extension cord than to curse the darkness. Or something like that...

Anyway - even though I was a woman on fire today, don't worry - I still took time out to smell the roses. Or at the very least to watch some praying mantises, ummmm, doing it.

This picture cracks me up. Don't they look so guilty?
I know, I know - I'm a sick puppy...

* As far as the "who's going to win" question goes, I gotta say - I love 'em all. Even the ones that are easy to hate, like Jeffery and Laura. It would be nice if Michael did well, since he's representing the ATL. Unfortunately, I liked his final collection the least of the four. Oh well, it'll be interesting...

the girl is all "save me! help!" and the boy is all "bugger off!"

Ha!
Looks like some teenage kids in a steamy car with a cop shining a flashlight on them. So busted! and frozen with fear. Not that I would know anything about that. uh hum.
Glad you're blazing in high-gear. Hope you get through your to-do list. ;-)

yeah, the praying mantises mating captured my attention. what a great shot. it's rare that i find one of those things around here.

so yeah, i'm psyched to see the finale of PR tonight, too. i'm rooting for Laura. i don't dislike her all that much, and her aesthetic appeals to me much more so than anyone elses.... but Michael is a fav. i need some hot pink hot pants.

Do you think they are thinking Geez lady a little privacy if you don’t mind! Or is it more like that is the biggest one eyed bird I have ever seen & I sure hope it doesn’t eat me, take her/him instead!

I’m glad to hear that you are coming out of you funk!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. What happened when he was finished? Did she start chomping on him??

there used to be a Nike commercial ages ago with a male and felamle pray mantis. And the male took off running in nikes cause the girl was going to eat him. It was the best. I still can't believe you got a picture of this. :D

OK - I just have to say that I number of you are making me feel better... because you asked the exact thing that we were interested in. That is - was she going to bite his head off?

We watched them for about 5 minutes, which really when you think about it is a long time to watch bugs copulating. Then I just started to feel pervy, and worried that we were upsetting them, so we gave up and went home. My neighbor said that they stayed that way for most of the day, and he never did see if the boy bug got his head bitten off...
