This is my week for "free concert" karma...

Bubba scored tickets (through his work) to Wednesday night's Nine Inch Nails concert*. I'm stupidly giddy over the prospect!

His work gets tickets to pretty much everything, and before any event, they send out a mass email to announce what tickets they have. Any employee who is interested sends a reply email - and then a winner is drawn from the respondents.

I first heard about this concert a few weeks ago, and I told Bubba that if they had a ticket lottery for this show, that I wanted to go.
Then we both dissolved into peals of laughter at the thought of his fairly straight-laced company having these tickets up for grabs.

Much to our surprise, the announcement came out today - Bubba replied and the rest is history!** We suspect he won them because absolutely no one else wanted them...

Anyhow - it promises to be a great show - Bauhaus is opening. I'm just reveling in my musical time warp week....

*And no, this really isn't as random as it seems. I went through a very intense "I love Trent" phase in the early 90's. And yes, I was married already, and should have been beyond such things.
I suspect that if you were to know me, or meet me, this penchant for "angry young boy" rock would probably be the last thing you would guess about me (remember, I am working on being "average personified") but there it is. Bubba has always said that my music collection looks like it belongs to a schizophrenic...

This will be my 3rd NIN show? Yup, that's right - third.

**Although, to be fair - a tiny part of me is not so surprised. The only other time that I asked Bubba to win tickets from work was last summer, when I wanted to see Robert Plant. I jokingly told Bubba that he needed to win those tickets, and he did! My crush on Trent Reznor in the 90's was rivaled only by my crush on Robert Plant in the early 80's. Going to that show was a high school dream come true....

How funny that my husband wins me tickets to see my ex-boyfriends....

I wonder how many other preschool teachers will be at the NIN concert. My son would think you were pretty cool.

wow. i wish my hubby won me tickets to see all my wannabe boyfriends. instead, i "surprise" him by taking him to see rasslin. it was quite entertaining though. really. and completely my idea. he is not a rasslin fan.

I internet at the company that runs our local outdoor amputheater (that's totally spelled wrong, sorry) one year and got tickets to everything. It was AWESOME.

Too bad the people didn't get paid worth squat.
