American Woman...

From time to time, I can't resist these things.... you know, what color hair should you have, or what kind of yarn would you be, etc. etc. etc.

So today I stumbled across this "What American City Are You?" quiz - and just had to try it...

You Are Austin

A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.
You're totally weird and very proud of it.
Artistic and freaky, you still seem to fit in... in your own strange way.

Famous Austin residents: Lance Armstrong, Sandra Bullock, Andy Roddick

Scarily enough, that sounds about right*. It reminds me a little of what Autum had to say a short while back, which pleased me to no end. It's funny how our blog-friends can sum us up more easily sometimes that we can sum up ourselves. Or at least make all our weird personality quirks seem palatable, instead of pathological....

* Although in the interest of fairness I must admit that I have never actually been to Austin, although I would love to. So I can't speak firsthand about that Austin experience.
And I'm not sure how proud I am about my weirdness.
Or about how much I actually fit in...

Oh - and since I used the "American Woman" title post, let me take this opportunity to wish all my fellow Americans a Happy Fourth of July Weekend.
And let me assure all my non-American readers that you're not really missing all that much. It's not one of my favorite holidays... Typically, it's hot and it's loud. But hey, any excuse for a long weekend is OK with me....

I'm "Austin" too, it seems. (I guess it's the 'offbeat' thing.) I picked 'West Coast' over 'The South' for favorite area - and I still came out 'Austin.' How do it know?

Ha!

I'm "Austin" too.

Maybe it's a secret ploy to make all us bloggers seam alike...

i was new york, which is odd. i've never been there, and might not ever go there. and sometimes i think those who live there think that the world revolves around them.
